Welcome to The Blow-Ins

Nestled along the quiet bend of the Inbhear Scéine, a river rich with myth and memory, a new story is unfolding, one told not by ancient legends, but by the people who have chosen to make this corner of Kerry their home.

The Blow-Ins is a celebration of those journeys.

This project profiles individuals and families who have arrived in the Inbhear Scéine area from all over the world, people who once came as visitors, workers, dreamers, adventurers, or even by accident, and who stayed to become part of the living fabric of this place.

Through intimate video interviews, participants share their experiences of settling in Ireland:
their first impressions, their challenges, their moments of connection, and the unexpected joys that made Kerry feel like home.

These stories are honest, human, and deeply rooted in the unique meeting point where local culture and global backgrounds intertwine.

The project will culminate in a beautifully crafted coffee table book, also titled The Blow-Ins, bringing together portraits, stories, and reflections that highlight the diversity, resilience, and warmth of the community that has grown along the Inbhear Scéine.

Whether you are a neighbour, a visitor, or a fellow blow-in, we invite you to step inside these stories, discover new perspectives, and celebrate the many ways people find belonging on the Wild Atlantic edge of Ireland.

Welcome to The Blow-Ins.
A project about people, place, and the journeys that shape us.
